ABOUT

The memories we experience as a global society and the indentites we hold are often shaped by the historical events we witness. When such events transpire, it is photo and video journalists who see history unfold in ways few others do.

Adryel Talamantes - 2023

Adryel Talamantes (b. 1986) is a photojournalist originally from the United States, based in Bangkok, Thailand since 2015. Adryel’s passion for visual media, encompassing both still photography and video, stems from his desire not to tell the stories of others who lived them, but to share individual moments in a clear, unfiltered context. His work primarily focuses on news and documentary subject matter, and he has covered stories in Cambodia, the Hong Kong S.A.R. (China), Iraq, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and the USA. Crisis and conflict along with their after effects, social issues, and cultural practices are what he finds the most pressing drive to document and preserve.

His photography and videography has been published and run by numerous outlets and organizations, including The Wall Street Journal, USA TODAY, Agence France-Presse, Bloomberg Originals, The Guardian, Thomson Reuters, L'Obs (Le Nouvel Observateur), Der Stern, The South China Morning Post, The Guardian Weekly, The Times (UK), Nikkei Asian Review, Le Monde, The Financial Times, VICE, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Al Jazeera, Foreign Policy, Deutsche Welle (DW), The New York Post, Mother Jones, BBC Mundo, The Diplomat, PRI/Global Post, Spiegel Online, Welt, The Straits Times, Yahoo News, Bild, War Is Boring, and Remote Lands, among others.
